"The Giving Tree"

In 2002-03, to coincide with our handicap project, Christ Church purchased a "Giving Tree" that is displayed in the Cloister.  Members of the church were given the opportunity to purchase a leaf in memory of loved ones, in thanksgiving for family, or to praise God for the blessings in their lives.  Levels of giving were established and donations and pledges were to help defray the cost of the project.

Into 2009, the church has had many new challenges to face.  Therefore, the Planned Giving Committee wants to reintroduce and "grow" the giving tree!  Members of the church will be given the opportunity to honor and remember family and friends by purchasing a leaf.  At this time, the donation or pledge to purchase a leaf will be designated to the general fund.  Following are the levels of giving:

     ~A Plain Leaf may be purchased for a donation of $250

     ~A Leaf with One Cross for a donation of $500

     ~A Leaf with Two Crosses for a donation of $750

     ~A Leaf with Three Crosses for a donation of $1,000 

(Anyone wishing to donate may do so by contacting the church office 716-433-9229 or speak to any member of the vestry!)         

Multiple leaves may, of course, be purchased, and any donaton may be pledged over a year or two.  If you decide to purchase a leaf for the Giving Tree, you may contact one of the committee members or the church office for engraving instructions.

We hope you will consider this opportunity to honor loved ones, and praise God for all the blessings he has bestowed on us, our families and Christ Church.  In addition, you will be helping Christ Church to face the challenges of 2009.  Thank You!!
